TESDA Region III Director Conducts Ocular Inspection of Indigenous People TVET Court Site
CAPAS, Tarlac – TESDA Region Director (RD) Dante J. Navarro met with Capas town Mayor Reynaldo Catacutan and ironed out the details of the donation of the site and construction of the indigenous people (IP) Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) court at Barangay Cristo Rey, Capas on May 23, 2018.
During the meeting, RD Dante was able to finalize the commitment from the Capas town Mayor to donate a five-hectare lot for the multi-use IP TVET court at Barangay Cristo Rey, Capas, Tarlac.
Plans were also finalized on April 30, 2018 for RD Dante and TESDA Tarlac Provincial Director (PD) Elizabeth D. Manio to preside on the distribution of certificate of scholarship grants for Capas, Tarlac IPs.
RD Navarro also left instructions to PD Liza to expedite the Capas Sanguniang Bayan resolution granting the Capas Mayor the authority to sign the deed of donation for the five-hectare lot for the IP TVET court and the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on partnership with TESDA. The MOA is also to include the intent of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Capas, Tarlac to register an LGU TVET Center.
The date and venue of the MOA signing, TVET court groundbreaking, and graduation rites for the Special Training for Employment Program (STEP) scholarship recipients of Senator Sonny Angara will be scheduled subject to the availability of the TESDA Director General (DG) Guiling “Gene” A. Mamondiong.
After the meeting with the Capas town Mayor, the TESDA Team proceeded to the prospective IP TVET court site to get a sense of perspective of the project.
The impressive show of support for TVET programs of the Capas Mayor prompted the TESDA Tarlac PD to invite the good Mayor to become the 2018 TESDA Kabalikat Nominee for TESDA Tarlac. Beaming with pride the Mayor readily accepted.
The RD then proceeded to visit Concepcion Vocational School in Concepcion, Tarlac, TESDA Tarlac Provincial Office, and the Provincial Training Center in Tarlac City to formally meet the personnel and staff.
During the meeting with personnel and staff of the Provincial Office and TESDA Technical Institutions (TTI), the RD reminded everyone concerned to make sure that all TVET activities must be documented and to assemble a portfolio of TVET delivery evidences, as it will be used as the basis of scholarship allocation for the next semester of 2018.
The RD reiterated that the above directive applies to all TVET providers.
