TESDA Tarlac Prepares for the 2017 Provincial Skills Competition

TARLAC CITY, Tarlac – TESDA Tarlac convened the administrators of Tarlac Technical Vocational Institutions on June 6, 2017 at Huat Chan Tea house in preparation for the 2017 Provincial Skills Competition tentatively scheduled around August this year.

TESDA Tarlac Provincial Director (PD) Ben-Hur B. Baniqued exhorted them to reject dishonorable acts during the competition.

“Administrators, trainers, and competitors should be role models,” the PD averred.

He further emphasized that, “All participants should value fairness and equity above medals.”

Although TESDA Tarlac is no stranger to world skills competitions having been represented by Arbethnel B. Ilagan in the 2016 ASEAN Skills Competition in Malaysia, the Tarlac PD reminded those present to send their best competitors as they may again be representing the country to the 2017 ASEAN Skills Competition in Thailand sometime in November should they reach and win in the Philippine National Skills Competition.

It may be recalled that yearly skills competitions are organized in all TESDA provinces to keep the standard of Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in the country at par with the world.

This year, the proposed venues for competition are PTC Tarlac, USST Tarlac, and TSAT.
