2016 TVET Forum Fontana
ANGELES, Pampanga – The second 2016 TVET Forum with the theme, “TVET Relevance in the Onset of ASEAN Integration,” kicked off with a marching band and parade of colors.
Angeles Vice-Mayor Brian Nepomuceno welcomed the participants and noted the impact made by the concerted effort of TESDA and its partner Technical Vocational Institutions of Region III.
Outgoing TVET Central Luzon President Gener Militante bid the assembly farewell and profusely thanked everyone for their untiring cooperation in delivering a powerhouse performance unequaled in the history of TVET organizations throughout the country.
The forum proper started with Mr. Rommel Narciso presenting the measures being done by Clark Development Corporation to better take advantage of the imminent entry of The Philippines into the ASEAN labor market.
TESDA Region III Director Teodoro M. Gatchalian introduced the guest speaker, Senator-elect Joel Villanueva, as the one instrumental in making TESDA a household word.
Senator-elect Joel Villanueva thanked everyone present for the overwhelming support at the polls.
Sen. Joel averred that he was pushing for a seat in the senate, but was not expecting a podium finish.
He admitted being pleasantly surprised that not only he won one, but was elected as the second most popular senator of the 2016 senatorial election.
During his speech Sen. Joel revealed that he will be pushing for the passage of the PTQF law.
“This law will become the legal basis for the ladderized system of education in the Philippines,” he said.
This framework will make our educational system more responsive to the needs of the employers and speed-up the deployment of graduates.
The ever generous former TESDA chief even hinted of more scholarship grants in the nearest future.
The succeeding speakers spoke about how the various Freeport zones within Region III adapted their systems and standards to best take advantage of the ASEAN Economic Integration.
The Forum ended with RD Ted clarifying issues arising from K-12 implementation.
