TESDA Tarlac Awards TWSP Vouchers, Signs MOA with TVIs
TARLAC CITY, Tarlac – TESDA Tarlac in furtherance of the Socio-Economic Agenda of the current Administration-i.e., Invest in human capital development, including health and education systems, and match skills and training to meet the demand of businesses and the private sector, awarded the first batch of Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP) vouchers and signed the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the implementing Technical Vocational Institution (TVI) on 15 February 2017, at Huat Chan Tea House, Tarlac City, Tarlac.
In attendance were personnel from TESDA Tarlac Provincial Office led by TESDA Tarlac Provincial Director Ben-Hur B. Baniqued; Administrators of TVIs who tendered and were granted TWSP voucher allocations; and Local Government Unit Community Training and Employment Coordinators (LGU CTEC), who will be coordinating the selection of prospective beneficiaries of the scholarships.
During the ceremony, TESDA Tarlac Provincial Director Ben-Hur B. Baniqued reminded the TVI administrators to use the funding to improve the equipment and facilities of their training centers; accomplish TWSP vouchers right the first time; and ensure that no fee of any kind will be collected from the scholars.
PD Baniqued also assured the TVI Administrators, that he will work for more grants for Training Methodology of TVI trainers.
He also encouraged trainers to ensure that their profiles are up to date and to use the lull between training schedules to get industry exposure.
After the MOA signing, TVI and LGU representative were encouraged to confer and exchange information to help facilitate the training delivery.
