TESDA Tarlac Conducts Orientation for CTECs on Barangay Kasanayan para sa Kabuhayan at Kapayapaan
HUAT CHAN TEA HOUSE, Tarlac City – TESDA Tarlac Provincial Office organized an orientation meeting for the Community Training and Employment Coordinators (CTEC) of the Province of Tarlac.
TESDA Tarlac Provincial Director Ben-Hur B. Baniqued opened the orientation by expounding on the Socio-Economic Agenda of the Duterte Administration particularly: To promote rural and value chain development toward increasing agricultural and rural enterprise productivity and rural tourism and invest in human capital development, including health and education systems, and match skills and training to meet the demand of businesses and the private sector.
Having set the overarching goal of the current administration, the discussion quickly focused on the importance of establishing a comprehensive database from which to base the implementation of the “Barangay Kasanayan par sa Kabuhayan at Kapayapaan.”
This aims to bring TESDA services closer to the people in rural areas, catering to the school youth, unemployed men and women, and others who wish to acquire skills for self-employment, employment abroad, or entrepreneurship.
To bring about this massive effort of barangay empowerment, a Barangay Skills Mapping Survey Instrument was devised by TESDA to accurately build a database that would enable the planning office to ascertain and device a pro-active tech-voc intervention tailor made for each barangay.
The well attended event also enabled the CTECs to organize and elect their officers for faster mobilization and dissemination of information.
The following were elected by popular acclamation: Noel C. Regis, PESO-La Paz – CTEC President; Arnold G. Samson, PESO-Tarlac City – Vice President; Merly Bumagat, PESO-Capas – Secretary; and Teresita P. Ronquillo, PESO-Bamban – Treasurer.
