TESDA Launches National TVET Enrollment Day and Jobs Bridging in Tarlac
TARLAC CITY, Tarlac – TESDA Tarlac Provincial Office with Tarlac Association of Technical Vocational Institutions (TATVI) and Philippine Association of Higher Education and Technical Institutions (PAHETI – Tarlac) launched the National Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Enrollment Day and Jobs Bridging at the City Mall, Tarlac City on February 27, 2018 and simultaneously at Capas Municipal Covered Court and ICF Gym, Paniqui, Tarlac on February 28, 2018.
The program is in support of President Duterte’s “Education for All” policy and aims to make free technical vocational education accessible to all sectors and minority groups.
After the program preliminaries, TESDA Tarlac Provincial Director Elizabeth D. Manio thanked the Presidents and Administrators of Tarlac Technical Vocational Institutions (TVIs) and company reps for their presence and active participation.
PD Liza also encouraged the youth to proactively participate in nation building by acquiring skills to ensure inclusion in the economic development of the country.
Tarlac Provincial PESO Head Nida Ducu emphasized skills and participation in productive economic activities as weapons to triumph in the economic war currently raging across Asia as the new frontier of economic expansion.
These events were simultaneously launched all over the country to serve as a one stop venue for enrollment in TVET programs offered in each province and employment locators for certified TVET graduates.
Selected representatives from accredited TVIs performed dance and songs numbers to entertain those who are waiting for their turn at the booths.
It was estimated that around 3,000 clients were served during the 2-day event held at three venues.
