Tarlac PTESDC Meets
Aug. 3, 2016, Huat Chan Restaurant – The Tarlac Provincial Technical Education and Skills Development Council (PTESDC) met at Huat Chan Tea House, McArthur Highway, Tarlac, City to update the other council members on the latest developments of their sectors.
Present during the meeting were: MS. MA. CAROLINA C. UY, Employer Sector Representative, President PCCI Tarlac; GRACE HELENA LUGTU, Government Sector Representative, Representing the Provincial Director, DTI Tarlac; MR. LUISITO G. DE JESUS, TVET Sector Representative; MR. BAYANI DELA CRUZ, Dominant Sector Representative, and Chairman, Provincial Agriculture and Fishery Council; MS. MARIA LIRA REYES, Alternate representative of Gov. Susan Yap Sulit.
TESDA Tarlac Provincial Director Ben-Hur B. Baniqued presented the following resolutions, that after some questions and revisions were adopted: Endorsing the relaxation of Educational and Age Requirements for All Beneficiaries of TESD Training; Requesting for Clarification on the Extent of Authority of Tarlac PTESDC on Matters Relating to Local Concerns; Declaring Support for Two Pronged of TESDA in Poverty Alleviation; Requesting for Clarification on the Status of Recommendations on the Issues and Concerns Raised during the July 21, 2016 DTS Consultation Meeting.
The plan to have a “Fund Run para sa Kalikasan” to generate funds for the tree planting activity at the Tarlac Agricultural University Forestry Ground gathered strong support.
The selling point of the tree planting activity is the two year maintenance plan wherein the plants will be cared for by a paid worker to ensure its survival as opposed to the old practice of leaving the newly planted seedlings to the mercy of the elements.
