Gender Equality Triumphs at the 2016 FunD Run
TARLAC CITY, Tarlac – The Technical Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Tarlac and PAHETI Tarlac held a 5K Fund Run para sa Kalikasan with the theme, “Luntiang Kapaligaran para sa Tuloy-tuloy na Kaunlaran,” on September 17, 2016 in celebration of the 22nd Anniversary of the Authority.
The event was participated by Tarlac Technical Vocational Institution (TVI) and TESDA Technical Institution (TTI) Administrators, Instructors, Trainees, and invited guests.
Residents and stall owners around the Tarlac City Plazuela were awakened at around 4:00 O’clock A.M. by the festive noise emanating from the place when around 1,800 enthusiastic participants started trickling in for the event.
After the program preliminaries, TESDA Tarlac Provincial Director Ben-Hur B. Baniqued gave a brief background on how the idea of caring for the newly planted seedlings after tree planting activities came about when he was still the TESDA Pampanga Provincial Director.
The ever impressive and energetic Concepcion Vocational School Faculty and Staff led the warm-up session which started slowly and finished with a “Tatlong Bibe” shake it all to send the runners on their way warm and glowing.
The 5K Fund Run started in front of the Plazuela to Ninoy Aquino Boulevard, all the way to Romulo Boulevard and back.
The event uncovered a lot of female athletics potentials in the persons of the top female finishers, to wit: Kreza Tabamo, Danica Bonete, Murielle Macapinlac, Kanno Megumi, and Erica Rigor.
With the exception of Kanno, who is a Japanese National from Man to Man Boarding School, all female top finishers are members of the MAKO Sharks, a local swim team who recently made waves at a Singapore swim meet.
