TARLAC CITY, Tarlac – TESDA Tarlac conducted the 2018 Tarlac Competency Assessors’ Calibration Workshop at Max’s Luisita on June 19, 2018.
After the program preliminaries, Nicolas O. Sacramento, Supervising TESD Specialist, reminded the participants of the consequence of non-compliance to the standard.
After the welcome address of Sir Nic, Dr. Luisita S. dela Cruz, the former Regional Director of TESDA Region 4A gave the overview of the day’s activity.
In her presentation RD Net, as Dr. dela Cruz is fondly called by her former TESDA family, differentiated between the calibration and moderation where calibration is a process of bringing to speed all concerned on the provisions of the standard, and moderation as a process of arriving at a consensus over particular issues.
The former RD also emphasized the need to calibrate to re-clarify and disseminate relevant policies to all concerned.
She also expounded on the duties and responsibilities of assessors, assessment center managers, and assessment focal persons.
During the workshop, the participants were grouped and challenged through various activities to ascertain their mastery of the assessment procedures.
After the workshop calibration, the participants lead by the recently elected Tarlac Trainers Association President Marnie Q. Diamse took the Assessor’s Oath.
The newly elected Tarlac Trainers Association Officers were also presented and given the chance to introduce themselves to the participants.
Feedback from the participants showed that by far, this calibration workshop was the most grueling they had attended.
Participants left with token prizes and assessor’s shirts.
